My religious guilt has been a fault of me for the past 13 years of living. I've wondered why people kept saying Allah has left me whenever my problems are brought up. I only then realised that it wasn't that Allah abandoned me, but my own people had a messed up view of Islam that whatever they didn't like to hear was something they'd just cherry-pick it and wrap it up in gold. I was trying hard to apologise to my younger self that I forgot how to love my current self.

It relates to me in the theme because both Dayana and Syafiqah are two people who want the same thing but they don't achieve it until they meet each other. Dayana being a young, reserved high schooler who's attempting suicide and Syafiqah who's a hard-headed outspoken adult who's self-destruction. The two of them only wanna survive.

Khira Ammar, a 23-year-old filmmaker and graduate of Digital Film Production at Sunway University. She was born and raised in Sungai Petani, Kedah. Having a background in writing having written multiple short stories since high school and now is translating her writing into films. She directed Bread (2024) that managed to enter Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market 2025 and Malaysia International Film Festival with the collaboration with Rondo Productions Emerging Composers Initiative 2025. Her philosophy in her films is to have the audience question their thoughts and emotions on a deeper and raw level, similar to that, having a sense of disturbance when watching her films or when they understand the hidden message. She tends to make films that resonates with people who have been looked down upon. She also aims to make her films as uncomfortable to the audience or viewer, through either its visual and stylistic approach, or its hidden meanings and nuances.
